How common are nursing home negligence complaints in Brooklyn?
Between August 1st 2017 and July 31st 2021 there were 3,060 allegations of inadequate care or violations of federal or state regulations filed against Brooklyn nursing homes. This was 5.8% of the total number of complaints (52,630) filed in New York state over the same period.
And on average, there were 31.6 complaints per 100 occupied beds in each Brooklyn facility — lower than the New York state average of 50.1 complaints per 100 beds.

Between August 1st 2017 and July 31st 2021, the Rutland Nursing Home on Schenectady Ave was the Brooklyn nursing home which received the highest number of complaints (203), while the Sea Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on West 24th St had the highest number of complaints registered per 100 patients (55.9).
